NOTE: The photographers scale seen in many of these shots is 6 x 12 inches
in size with inches shown in the checkerboard portion.

This V2 is appears to be largely in original condition internally but unfortunately the interior is not readily available for inspection.  The exterior has been given a uniform coat of redish-brown primer (including the Meillerwagen) as a form of protection from the weather but it does not represent an operational paint scheme.  It also appears that sections of it were once open to allow viewing on the interior equipment but these sections have since been covered with thin sheets of galvanized steel.  In particular, large areas of skin covering the fuel tanks have been replaced so don't be fooled into thinking that this is original equipment, it is not.  This example also displays a unique surviving feature, the protective covers used on the aerodynamic rudders at the tips of the fins during transport.

This example has since been given over to the U.S. Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio for restoration and eventual display.  It is unknown at this time if they also received the separate engine section, liquid oxygen tank, combustion chamber, steam generator and turbine pump as well.   I will post further news as it becomes available.
