Each page below contains renderings and detailed plans for the spacecraft seen in the films and those discussed on this website.  This material has been generated with model builders in mind and is free to anybody for non-commercial uses.  It has been created with the mechanical design software Solid Works, which is a PC-native product owned by CATIA, an IBM / Dassault joint venture.

The Original Design:
This is the ship as originally designed for Planet of the Apes.  It was meant to be the fourth stage of a large rocket similar in design to the Saturn V but the engines and firewalls seen here were later omitted.  This omission implies that this is now only a portion of the actual craft...  (the original rendering of this rocket can be seen in The Larry Evans Collection)

Taylor's Sparrow IIIC Icarus:
This is the entire ship that sinks beneath the waters of the dead sea.  It is a one-time use, orbit to surface lander who's primary purpose is to provide a ready-made habitat after landing.

Taylor's Interstellar Transport Section:
Converted from a surplus Mars cargo transport, this robot ship provides the near light propulsion system required for Taylor's mission.

The Capsule Conversion of Taylor's Icarus:
This is Taylor's craft after extensive modifications by parties unknown.  It will ultimately allow three Ape scientists to escape from their world just before it is destroyed by an Alpha Omega "doomsday" weapon.

Brents Sparrow IIIA Starfire:
This is the orbit to surface cargo transport that crash lands in the desert leaving its Commanding Officer dead and Second Officer Brent stranded at the beginning of "Beneath".  Unlike Taylor's slapped together craft, this is a dedicated orbital transport spacecraft meant to assist the construction of a preliminary base on the new world.

Brents Interstellar Transport Section:
Purpose built as a robot interstellar transport, this craft carries Brents lander, spare parts and fuel as well as satellites and construction supplies for the preliminary base they are to build.

The Heavy lift Sparrow IIIB Colony Builder:
This is the largest manned planetary lander used in the program.  It is capable of transporting any piece of equipment brought by the mission down to the surface.  Its only limitation is that it must have a prepared runway to land on.

The Condor Colony Ship:
The Condor is a dedicated colony ship equipped for a crew of 6,000 and carrying all the supplies necessary for building a fully independent, permanent colony on the new world.

Other Auxiliary Craft Carried by the Condor:
In addition to the the Sparrow IIIAs and Bs, the Condor also carries orbital tugs, work pods and several huge one-time use robot cargo transports meant to deliver large amounts of supplies in a single landing.
