Here is a Mike Trim design at his best. This pretty little VTOL utility craft is not only realistic and practical in design, it appears to be so well designed that it could probably be made to fly in real life. Many such tilt-rotor aircraft were experimented with in the 1950s and '60s, some which looked remarkably like this one. Once again we see why "UFO" still finds an audience today with its well designed and interesting hardware. Unfortunately this wonderful design only appeared briefly in the episode "Ordeal" but it surely would have made many more appearances had the series continued.
