This handsome little x-plane appeared in the "UFO" episode "Exposed" and was piloted by a new character being introduced to the series, "Paul Foster". He is a test pilot for the "Ventura Aircraft Corporation" who witnesses a successful UFO intercept by Sky 1 but is so close that he is almost killed by the blast and his aircraft then spins out of control. When he reports what he has seen, he soon learns that his copilot was killed in the crash and nobody wants to hear about what he saw or why he crashed. He begins to dig into an apparent cover-up which soon leads him to Colonel Ed Straker. Eventually he is invited to join SHADO. The XV-104 is simple but convincing and features one of the more realistic cockpits seen in the show. It is apparently a high altitude reconnaissance aircraft, presumably being developed for the military. The best views we get of this aircraft are seen when Foster rolls a desk model of it around in his hands. Also visible in the episode is a photograph of the plane in flight on the wall in the office of the company's president.
