Wings, Flaps and Wing Tips

These photos show the ultra high temperature carbon-carbon leading edge tiles and the high temperature black tiles found over half of the surface.  Each tile is numbered and in some cases appear to have computer bar codes applied to them.  Also notice the different amounts of weathering visible on each tile, some are obviously new (black) yet others are grey and still others are a very light grey.  Many are chipped and some appear to have been spliced with new portions instead of replacing the entire tile.
