This series of photos was taken at the 1998 refurbishment rollout ceremony held at the former Rockwell International (now Boeing) Shuttle final assembly plant in Palmdale California.  Unfortunately the OMS pods (those bulges on each side of the tail) and forward RCS module (the area between the cockpit windows and the grey nose cone) were only mockups put in place for aerodynamic continuity, the actual units stayed behind at the Kennedy Space Center for refurbishment.
