Outer Limits Interplanetary Rockets

The rockets in the top row of images
seen above came from the earlier Projects Unlimited TV series "Men Into
Space" and were originally used to depict the construction of a base
on the moon. The top left image is the "Outer Limits" version of
the planet Mars while the next two show a lunar cargo ship being launched
after unloading supplies on the Moon (although for "Limits" it is
supposed to be landing and landing on Mars, not the Moon). The top right image
is of a Mars probe crashed on the surface and was probably new film specifically
for "Outer Limits". The rocket in the bottom row of images appears
to have been taken from the movie "Flight To Mars" although the
film seen here was shot for "Outer Limits". We could assume that
the miniature was handy and instead of building a new one for "Limits"
they simply used what was at hand. The creature in the sand is another Wah
Chang creation (the designer and builder of the the Star Trek Phasers, Tricorders
and Communicators). They bear a strong resemblance to the Chinese masks he
created for the "Uncle Tom" play seen in the Yul Brenner/Deborah
Kerr film "The King and I" (except for the teeth...).
